It is hard to assume someone addicted to something as simple as foodstuff, but I would have to agree that we is a nation of people which might be addicted to food. You need only go to the grocery store and shop around. In the area I are now living, you can go into the store everytime and see an obese person riding a capability to move scooter and do their own shopping. And rarely is their own basket filled with vegetables and fruit.
Having had gastric bypass surgery to give up weight and knowing what it can be like to struggle while using the mental aspects of consuming too much, it is easy to do to see this problem in others. While it does are generally a little more expensive you eat healthy, with a little effort most people do have the financial capacity to make the necessary changes. I would find it hard to believe with the huge media presence within our society that most people would not know about foods that are good for you and foods that may not be. But that same society also allows you for us to be unhealthy by slapping a timely food restaurant on every corner in america.
When you are aware that something is not healthful and can have negative consequences and you do it anyway, that is an addiction. Now, don't misunderstand me, there is a difference in planning to eat at McDonald's weekly and making it a normal part of your eating plan. There is nothing mistaken with allowing yourself a delicacy, but making every day a delicacy and eating while you are not hungry, because you are bored, angry or stressed can lead to big problems.
We have a lot of great programs that allow people lose the excess weight. But most of these are food plans and they are necessary. But just as important is coping with the mental aspects associated with overeating. If you can change the way you think and relate to help food, there is a superb chance getting to a healthy weight will become that much easier. I think you will find there's shortage of physical programs that offer this type of help.
However, there are generally some online programs, if you are willing to take time to look for one. Interacting with others who have dealt with this problem is a great help to people.
