Doing well at YouTube is a lot like other forms of marketing, you can succeed there with your videos if you learn the few necessary ropes. Today's little lesson on YouTube success is jam-packed with solid and proven tactics even a beginner can use.
We have seen quite a few videos at YouTube, but we do not see very many people using the feature that allows for linking videos together - obviously would be a good idea to keep people from leaving your channel. If somebody is interested in watching one of your videos and is actually liking it, chances are that they may want to see more videos created by you, ones that are relevant to the current video. You see, this is exactly why it is worth your time to make your content the best it can be. We cannot stress too much the need for you to include as much value and helpful information in your videos that you can manage.
You can do an effective video in possibly three minutes, but make sure you are offering solid info if you make it five or six minutes. Really and truly, it all comes down to the quality of your content and if your videos are not annoying, etc. If you are ever in doubt, ask other people to view your videos and let you know if they are too long or whatever. On the other hand, one thing you can do is let it ride and see what the community feedback is like - it can be pretty brutal. If you are not thin-skinned, then make your videos and let them rip, and then see how people react to them.
You will have a profile page for your channel, and that is one place that really needs to be done well and optimized for your market. If you don't take out the time to complete your profile, then that may raise questions and the viewers may question the kind of commitment you have to your channel. Yes, you do want people to subscribe to your channel, and they probably will not if they have no idea about who you are - or who your fictitious character is. The list of possibilities is very long at YouTube, and all you need to do is keep learning and get started doing something.
