Giving blood is a very unselfish act that can result in the life of someone else being saved. Many resources collect blood all year long in order to make sure there is a good supply of it. You never know when there will be a major crisis that depletes the supply of blood collected. The more the public understands about the need for blood the more likely they are to donate it.
The process of giving blood is one that doesn't take very long. Yet it is something you can do for others without costing you anything but a few minutes of your time. This is a great way to help ensure society has what it needs to take care of those who need it. You may one day need a blood transfusion yourself and will be grateful that people have taken the time to be so generous.
