Here’s the truth. Mobile devices are everywhere. Almost everybody has one in some shape or form. And any business owner or online marketer who fails to see the absolutely staggering potential of this fact is either delusional, or apathetic.

Not to sound harsh here, but you would have to be an absolute fool to walk away from the enormous opportunity that the world’s extreme cell phone, smart phone, and digital tablet explosion is presenting you with.

Your normal, everyday website(s) cannot be done effectively on a mobile device. There are actions you must take to make your site “mobile-friendly.” There are sizing and formatting issues which much be addressed. And unless you do these very basic things, you will be limiting yourself and your success in a very profound way.

Truth be told, you may already be throwing hundreds, if not thousands of dollars away each and every month if you have not mobilized your web presence.

This is particularly true if you happen to run a local, offline business. These types of businesses are heavily searched for with mobile devices.

In fact, if you own a Thai restaurant and someone visiting your city wants to find a great place to grab some Thai, they aren’t likely to try to find the nearest library so that they can login to the internet. They’ve got a smart phone, and they’re not afraid to use it!

This is true for virtually all industries and niches, online and off. Not everyone is sitting comfortably in their home, wearing pajamas and logging into their desktops. In fact, most people are not. But need I repeat the fact that almost EVERYONE has a mobile device on them right now, and many of these individuals are looking for you! It’s up to you to make yourself easily accessible.

You need to begin a mobile marketing campaign immediately for these 3 reasons:

1. Accessibility and Portability

As we’ve just discussed, many people are carrying mobile phones on them right now. In fact, several BILLION people worldwide are hooked up with mobile service, and are able to access the web from these devices. They don’t need to be plugged into your wall or carried around in bulky carrying cases. These devices can simply be stored in your pocket. And they are almost always in use!

2. Search Engine Capability

If you do any SEO or search advertising, you will be thrilled to know that you can be found on mobile devices via major search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo! This means that everyone with a smart phone can access your site just as easily as the guy sitting at home in his underwear can (sorry for the visual). This, of course, is provided that you’ve got your site optimized for mobile.

3. Localization

Again, promoting your offline business to the folks in your area couldn’t be easier. Set up a mobile site telling the world what you’re all about, when you’re open, and how to find you. Be concise and to the point, and watch your doors start swinging open more than you ever thought they would.
