There are a number of advantages to mobile app development, both for customers and banks alike; firstly any sort of convenience will be devoured by an increasingly impatient clientele, and the speed of mobile apps will vastly outclass the web browser option that requires clients to type in the URL rather than simply clicking a button. ASB Bank has obviously seen into the near future and has recognized the importance of providing its clients with mobile apps, which will only become an increasingly important strategical field as smartphones become utterly ordinary, and universally adopted. While it is unlikely anyone will ever switch over from, for example, BNZ to ASB, it is altogether possible that a well-designed mobile application will increase overall customer satisfaction as part of a cohesive strategy, and a happy client is a long-term client. Mobile banking will only help clients take care of their financial needs, lower congestion at physical banks, and curtail a small bit of server traffic, and perhaps, if designed correctly, reduce the security threats ever-present from viruses and other programs.
It is altogether possible that mobile banking will come to replace, at least to a certain degree, internet banking, as ASB Fastnet users will increasingly rely on their phones to take care of their management requirements. Neither will ever really go away, but it is likely mobile banking will eclipse a fair amount of traffic from its sedentary brethrenâ€"â€"ironically reversing the trend away from phone banking that had occurred due to the development of the web.
