Android phone has been dominating smart phones these days. As a result, mobile phone manufacturers and carriers are planning to develop new android phones for 2010, 2011 and 2012.

In particular, Motorola and Verizon is planning huge developments for the next coming years. A new Motorola Droid handset is expected to be released soon.

The new Motorola Droid Pro is supposed to have a whopping 1.3GHz processor, four-inch screen and GPS and global roaming capabilities. How soon? Leaks estimate it to be launched in November 2010. The Droid Pro might look like Motorola Q, only with touchscreen and a global device. It will also be the first droid phone to operate under Android 2.2.

Samsung and HTC gets the jump on as it will unveil a new 7"screen android tablet with a camera facing front. Motorola is also joining the bandwagon of huge screen as it sets to develop a 10 inches screen tablet. Do not expect it too soon, though, as it may be set to release early next year.

With the fast developments and release of Android phones, you might want to get ready to get it for free.

Verizon is popular for its viral marketing strategy. Verizon just finished a pre-launched offering last July as it leaked secret locations of Droid certificates around the country. Numerous followers on Twitter had set out to join the scavenger hunt to get the free Motorola Droid X phone.

Google, on the other hand, has been feeding its application and game developers with free android phones. Just this year, Google gave complimentary android phones to numerous game developers. Attendants of the GDC or the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco got the chance to take home either the Motorola Droid or the Nexus One.

Samsung recently ends iPhone user's misery by giving free Galaxy S Android Phone. The offer was made through Twitter as Samsung follows unhappy iPhone twits and sending sunny tweets for a Galaxy S android phone as replacement. The company was obviously taking advantage of iPhone 4's badly PR's antenna.

T-Mobile, in celebration of Fathers Day, offered a free android phone to any customers who will switch to any family plan or add a new line to an existing family plan. The carrier also offered Charm Android phone as a back to school promotion.

Android phone's marketing strategy has been going on for some time to increase sales and popularity of mobile phones. Although most of the offered free phones will come with a discount and service plan contract like Verizon, T-Mobile, and other carriers, the scheme is to attract customers to buy their products, have the consumer's review their latest gadgets, and as Google often does to its employees and developers, reward loyal consumers with a free android phone.

It is good to know that there are free android phones giveaway offers that are being promoted by various companies. If you are looking to get an android phone, maybe do a little research around the web to see if you can find one of those free android phones.
